I and everybody who attended EngenuitySC’s IgNite! event Wednesday evening has to have come away from it feeling pumped up and having a new appreciation for knowledge economy “rock stars.” When you hear that phrase, you should think of scientists and researchers in university and company labs. A great example is Dr. Ken Reifsnider, Director of the USC new Solid Oxide Fuel Cell program. He was one of the presenters at the event and people loved hearing his take on ‘seeing” inside objects. People are beginning to see the value in responding to researchers such as Dr. Reifsnider like they would the lead singer in their favorite band (I forgot to take a Bic lighter to the “concert”).
It has occurred to me that if someone like a Dr. Reifsnider is a “rock star,” then folks such as Neil McLean, Executive Director of EngenuitySC and host of a great event Wednesday night, and myself, a humble patent and transaction attorney, and many others must be the “roadies” for these “rock stars.” And as they say, “the show must go on” so its off to another meeting. More later.
