EdVenture Children’s Museum has received a $1.3 million federal stimulus grant to expand its health programming and encourage middle and high school students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The federal grant from the National Institutes of Health is the largest competitive federal grant awarded to a South Carolina museum. The grant was announced Monday at the museum by U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C. “This is a testimony to the work EdVenture is doing in this district,” Clyburn said. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., also was instrumental in landing the grant, Clyburn said.
