How could I have forgotten! I should also mention that the US Chamber’s Global IP Center wants folks to sign up to be a “Friend of IP” and you can use the link under “Links” in the next column. Yes, I know it sounds a little strange but you don’t want your company to be left behind if your competition’s “friendship” with IP enables them to grow more aggressively than you can. According to the good folks at GIPC,
A Friend of IP believes: It is critical to protect innovation and creativity by promoting strong IP rights and norms around the world through:
- Strengthening protection and enforcement of IP rights in the United States and abroad;
- Promoting and defending the current system of IP rights and norms in the United States, key countries, and multilateral fora; and
- Raising awareness and increasing support among key audiences for the value of strong IP rights as a driver of innovation and creativity.
