This may be the shortest post ever on this site, but the key problem with politicians enacting tax reform can be summed up in very few words. As Pam Olson, a Washington tax lawyer, put it “Any reform is likely to have vocal losers and largely silent winners.” Maybe the only way tax reform will happen is if voters send a bunch of one term candidates to Congress.
